I love Django. The framework is so rich and the community around it is great. Documentation and various support resources are unsurpassed, in my opinion.
I've started using jQuery for Ajaxian things. I like the "get the basics in 15 minutes" type of things. That way I can start immediately to solve my simpler problems and then as I learn more handle more complex problems.
Yeah, jQuery is awesome. I really like the ability to access elements by either name or CSS class. That's really helpful. If you're interested in Django, check out the great "Django from the Ground Up" series here:
